850 billion dollar budget bail out bill passes! I wanted to let you know that the bailout bill is another big rip off. I have asked approximately 3,000 personal friends and professional contacts to vote against every single incumbent in upcoming elections. Over 1,000 people replied back to me within 12 hours and all were adamant against this deal. When 85% of the people are against something and it still passes both the house and senate, we are no longer a democracy. There will be major political repercussions for years to come for these disgraceful actions. On the off chance that you are still reading this email, I would like to give you some interesting background. 1st stone thrown: Back prior to the depression my grandfather owned 1,300 acres near Hinckley, MN. He and my grandmother ran a poor farm there. The government gave them $8.00 per day to house indigent people. As the depression loomed the government reduced the $8.00 until it was down to $1.00 per day and while doing so, they increased property taxes until they were forced into losing the land to the government. This is now part of the Hinckley National Forest. 2nd stone thrown: My father, born in 1906, was a revenuer man back during prohibition. After prohibition ended, he went to work for Maple Island Dairies in Stillwater, MN. He worked there for 33 years and never missed a day. Maple Island went bankrupt, prior to bankruptcy laws, and my father was terminated with no pension (prior to pension laws). The government passed pension laws in the 60's to stop this corporate theft of retirement accounts but it did my father no good. He died a poor but honest man in 1976. 3rd stone: I worked for Delphi Automotive Systems in Oak Creek, WI. They were part of GM, Hughes, etc. until spun off, about 10 years ago, by GM. Immediately after the spin off, GM slowed down new contract awards to Delphi and began pushing them into bankruptcy. It was very clear this was an escape plan to avoid the golden parachutes for 30+ years of service factory workers reaching that maximum benefits. They had to run the company into the ground as the employee benefits were so good that no one would ever quit. GM did not expect this and it killed them and Delphi. Since bankruptcy would not cure their pension woes, they packed up the Delphi design center in Oak Creek and moved to Juarez Mexico. In the process, they gave people lousy severance packages and negotiated their benefits down through bankruptcy proceedings. Delphi in particular loses over 100 million dollars per month and banks continue to give them money. Why? Stone 4: I own a small business. I had 2 employees working on military projects at Penn State University. For a few hundred dollars per week (to me), I had to do federal tax, state tax, borough tax (county) and even fire dep't taxes in PA. The paperwork from all of these groups was endless. They sent bogus bills (attention getters I think) and totally forced me to quit having out of state employees. The tax work exceeded the value of having the employees. It is interesting that we stopped having employees in PA over two years ago and they sent us a bill for $130.00 last week. They had been of course paid in full, when agreed upon, and we informed them via phone that the bill was bogus. The PA tax rep said, Oh don't worry about it, just throw it away. They new it was bogus. Stone 5: John Mc Cain and Barrack Obama. Both of these guys are a couple of idiots. Exactly who, given choices, would actually think either of these guys are the best qualified people to run this country? No one. Why are they our only two choices? When I was in my twenties (30 years ago) I was a part of the DFL. I went to my local caucuses and tried to be active politically. In Minnesota, caucuses are how new legislation is supposed to get introduced by the people. The catch is that only the most popular topics are chosen for discussion, for possible new bill introductions. The number one issue was always abortion. That is all they talked about. In 10+ years, that is all they talked about. Joe public could never in a million years get any legislation started in Minnesota. I quit going. We are not all stupid out here and most of us are quite upset. I don't approve violence but I can assure you if the American people get hungry enough, you will begin to see more demonstrations and eventually riots. You have to stop this crap in Washington. All of you. This email will be posted in its entirety on www.intergalacticnews.com, today. Our readership there is over 1 million people per year.
