The Economic Bailout

Opinion from Intergalactic News!

$700,000,000.00

Wow what a number. A quick fix government giveaway to the central bank system. Wow! Can anyone reading this article name one member of the central bank?

I sent out a mass email yesterday to 1,000 of my closest friends, colleagues, suppliers and customers. I have never done that before but this thing really has me sparked. Out of the 1,000 emails sent, I received about 200 back. Every person out there has an opinion and none of them, not 1 single person, was for the bailout plan. It seems everyone has an opinion and a lot of you have done the math. What I found is that most of you can't do math for crap. Some of the plans I have heard are pretty outrageous. Here is mine:

Give every property owner in America a voucher for $7,000.00, regardless of how much their property is worth. The vouchers could be then applied to your mortgage, regardless of what standing it is in and regardless of whether you owe back taxes. The correct math is $7,000.00 x 100,000,000 property owners = 7 with eleven zeroes - 700,000,000,000.00. The beauty of this plan is that 100 million people have a chance to knock down their debt (part of the $11,200,000,000,000.00 we owe. Yes 11 trillion). The end result it that the banks get the 700 billion and Americans eliminate 700 trillion of personal debt. It is so simple Washington would never go for it. Why? Because George W. Bush is going to give all of his Exxon buddies, who own all of the banks, a blank check to loan a whole bunch more bad debt to themselves. The American people get saddled with the debt. Again.

I called The White House yesterday and told them my plan. The aid I spoke to on the phone there started an argument with me, or at least tried. He said your plan doesn't take into account renters or people who need to get loans but can't due to no money available. I said, "What the hell does any of this have to do with renters?". I suggest each of you take the time to call The White House as well. Phone to White House: 1-202-456-1414
Fax to White House:  1.202.456.2461 (Attn: Pres. G.W. Bush)

Also please email your plan to me or send one to your congressman, senator or whoever to object to the bank bailout.

For those of you who read this far, I have included a couple of the colorful responses I received:

- From Tim in Kenoska, WI - Actually I would chose to let the wall street firms fail. We have lasted almost two weeks with them failing ... whoop-de-do. We're still living. If I were any of those CEOs or the prominent politicians/Cox/Bernanke/and such I would watch my back. Look what happened to that CEO in India who fired a whole lot of employees--bludgeoned to death. See if he can collect a 100million severance now. Typical response from phone lacky at the White Mansion. Government employees do not know the difference between renters and home owners, like duh.
Can u tell how disgusted I am?
Catch ya
Tim

From Roy in Ohio -

As far as helping the renters – their rental house is owned by a homeowner. If the homeowner gets to keep the rental house, then the renter is helped. When I was 19, I rented an apartment (2 family duplex) and the owner lost it to taxes. The IRS took over ownership and asked us NOT to move, because the new owner would want renters. We didn’t look for a new apartment. Later we received an eviction notice giving us 10 days to leave the property. So that’s how the renters are helped!

From Scott in Milwaukee

> I agree with your plan 100% James... That is about the best idea I

> have heard over this economic payoff to the banks for the mistakes

> caused by their own doing. Cooking the books so to say, and Bush

> encouraged them with putting more people in homes who could not afford

> a home to begin with. They stretched out their necks to oblige and

> this is the outcome. I am sure there is more involved that I have not

> stated here, or am covering... But your plan is a whole lot better

> than their bailout...

From Jack:

Hi Jim, Hope all is well with you.  I like your idea but I like mine better. Skewer those bastards on poles and leave their rotting remains out on public squares as a lesson to be learned by other corrupt A-holes that gave themselves $$$millions while running their companies into the ground. Fuck em!Fuck em all but six and save them for the pallbearers!!! But that's just my idea... Jack

Keep them coming folks. Good stuff.
