Barry Bonds, baseballs best home run hitter, finally broke Hank Aarons home run record. Many thought it was a record that would stand for all time; but just like Roger Maris' single season home run record of 61, Aaron's record finally fell.

Barry has been surrounded by controversy for most of his career, mainly due to steroid allegations. The interesting thing about it is that Barry has never failed a drug test during his entire career. He admitted using some steroid cream without knowing that it was a banned substance but that is it. Can Mark McGuire say the same thing? I think Barry bashers should look in the mirror. Barry has been a great athlete for his entire career, from the Pittsburgh Pirates to the San Francisco Giants, Barry has always produced. Fans either love him or hate him.

It is time to lighten up on Barry. He can still smash the ball and how many baseball players over 40 ever could do the same? None. Barry deserves his spot in Cooperstown and he will get it. Even the commisioner can't stop his eventual induction into Cooperstown.

Congratulations Barry. It is men like you that make baseball the great game that it is. Thank you.
